Greyfeather

Greyfeather, named so by our own Chris Hillen, is what we call the housing.  It’s rustic, it’s spacious, it’s a work in progress… but, it can be packaged with the studio for a complete retreat style recording experience.  When you book the studio at the full rate, Greyfeather is included.

Greyfeather has a functional kitchen, bathroom, 1 bedroom and a large common room.  Depending on the size of your group, it can be private, spacious, and quiet… or a summer camp style bunkhouse.  There is currently 1 queen bed, 2 full size beds, and a super comfy sofa.  We will be adding additional sleeping accommodations soon, and future plans include expanding the property with additional structures for work, sleep, and general hanging out.

  Marfa Recording Company is a recording studio and creative space in a former cavalry base in the high desert of Marfa, Texas, a stone's throw from the Chinati Foundation and surrounded by deer and wild plants.

• Imagine It

  Topo Chico, tumbleweeds, warm vintage amps, beautiful gear, the Milky Way at night -- an isolated Motown of the Far West Texas desert. Artists at Marfa Recording Co. get access to all the studio's amenities, engineering, and lodging in a friendly house at the edge of town with a backyard of untouched prairie.
